HD does make a V-Glide or whatever the name, I sincerely hope they don't bolt on all that "old style" bags and fairing. Not to dis the others who have built their own... as I really like what they have done with what the had to work with. The MoCo designed a masterpiece in the V-Rod; I hope that IF they build a factory bagger, they make it an equal masterpiece.... Luxie... I'm putting on my flamesuit, give me 30 seconds and let 'er rip

"QUEEN of corruption!" | Haha...and its certainly not a Road Glide fairing... ![]() I like what some of the people have done as well...I thought about it and all...but figured it was just best to have a real Road Glide and a V-Rod. I wouldn't want that much fairing mounted on the forks.. add some solid wheels even if they do have slots...and get that bugger out in a good cross wind! ![]() |

Actually I would expect them to design, if they aren't already, another long stroke big twin with liquid cooling.

Enough power but not enough low speed lugging ability. BUT, however they do go it will look good. One thing I appreciate is their flair for the actual styling of the engines as compared the the "imitators" The V-Twin offerings from Honda, Yam, Suz, Kaw and even Victory look like "impressions" of an engine. All uniform and smoothed over. Two smoothly finned cylinders, a clutch cover lump and a big air cleaner hung on the side. I think it is one of the things that kept Triumph popular over BSA even though they were joint companies toward the end. BSA opted in 62-63 to go with streamline stylized engines that had nothing to do with the function of what was inside. Even though Triumph also restyled their twin in the same period they retained the semi-cobby "form-follows-function" style that was a visual trademark and reflected the mechanical architecture of the engine internals. Through all of the retoolings of HD Big-Twin engines from the beginning of time the external appearance has always reflect the nuances and mechanical workings of the internals and it makes the shapes much more interesting and appealing visually. The Revo engine also is attractive in that way especially as compared with the Japanese offerings. Please review the "pretenders" mug shots.

Junior Member Join Date: May 2009 Posts: 1 | ugly is subjective... it appeals to me, maybe. ugly is my mood after riding my over-geared '07 clatter-glide thigh-toaster. i'm ready for water cooling. and that's saying a lot coming from an old traditionalist geezer like me. wish there was a better frontal view. is that a hd batwing or one of the aftermarket jobs? |
