HD shop inspected the bike 3 days later and the next day Allstate paid up All damaged parts are at the shop EXCEPT the frame section!! My local shop ordered it end of May and the MoCo says its on back order and has delayed it's release twice WTF!! they dont make replacements or is every dealer more important than mine?? The next release date is 7/9/09 I think Tim |

Big Dog on a fast HOG! | Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. We all know how bad the dealerships can suck... but this isn't any better. I bought my 08 AW brand new in April 08. Two days after taking delivery my bike was sitting in my apartment complex while I was at work and someone decided they were going to play with my bike. I came home to my bike laying on her side in the parking space cos they put the kickstand up when they were messing with it. Besides the minor scratches they put on it, they dropped the bike on the right front peg and the peg and mount snapped off at the frame. Almost looked like it was a cheap weld when they made that section of the frame because it was a clean snap. I took it to the dealer I bought it from to have it fixed. The bike has a production stamp on the frame of 11-07, so the bike is about 5-6 months off of the assembly line. It took me 2 months to get my bike back from the dealer because they were fighting with the insurance company, the usual. The bad news was they waited 3 weeks for a new frame section. Its good that HD designed the frame in sections because God only knows how long it would have taken to get the bike fixed if they had to replace the whole frame. Sounds like this is typical HD bullshit. Might have better luck doing a search for a wrecked bike and getting the frame section that way. Best of luck to you. I feel your pain.

I hit some gravel in a turn on my old 98 Softail and the parts I needed came quickly I understand our V's aren't as popular as the airheads so the dealers don't stock many goodies for them but one would think the MoCo would have parts on hand for this kind of thing I think 6 weeks in limbo is a bit much?
