This what i did for my water temp gauge power. But had to use different power source that shuts off when cranking the motor because of the gauge having a computer processor or something in it. The gauge would get confused when the voltage would drop when starting up. If anyone has this problem there is an extra power source on the starter relay its self that is not used and is a switched power source while starting up the bike.

Grab power off the headlight plug. Use the Orange with White wire that isn't being used. It's the HDI light power source, and goes on with the Accessory Circuit. Goes off when the key is turned off.

You can use a factory pin, and the install is as clean as you can get.

Thanks RJ! I was hoping you would chime in on this one. I did like V1375R suggested for now, but I was hoping to gofor a more "factory like" appearance.

I like the idea of having the GPS on the accessory circuit. If you just want to sit at the bike and program the GPS, you don't have to have the entire bike on. Flip it into the accessory position and dink with the GPS all you want.

You can also tap into the ground in that same connector.

That was EXACTLY what I was hoping to do! One more quick question. Do you know if the spade connectors inside the plug is a "special" kind or can you get them most anywhere, Radio Shack for instance?

The connector is from AMP. You can get it from places like Digikey, I think, but you're better off ordering one from HD. It'll cost like 50 cents or so, and you SHOULDN'T have to wait. After all, it's used on just about all the HD line.

Got it, that's what I'll do RJ. Thank you
