iTrader Technician | Front Wheel RemovalDISCLAIMER - I highly recommend a service manual for anyone attempting to work on their own bike. Also, the sizes listed in this article apply to my 03A with my mods.. Sizes of fasteners may vary by model. - Remove brake calipers (12 point 10mm) - Secure the calipers so that they are not just hanging by the brake lines. I use bungies (sorry, I forgot the picture until after I was done) - Jack your bike up. I normally leave the front wheel just touching the ground. - Loosen pinch bolts in right side axle (5mm hex) - Use a screwdriver or drill bit or whatever you have and place it in the hole in the axle - Remove the axle nut (24 mm)

iTrader Technician | - Pull the axle out while keeping track of the left and right spacers - I usually put the spacers, washer, and nut back on the axle just as it came off the bike, so that when I re-assemble, I know that they are correct. - Roll the front wheel out of the way.. You may have to jack the bike up a little higher so that the wheel can clear the front fender. Stay tuned for "Front Wheel Installation".. ![]()
